My name is Stacey Grubb I work in Fife Shopping and support services. I got the opportunity to go to the SECC in Glasgow to the Community Job Scotland conference. I learned how CJS runs and the statistics of how many people they have helped. We also heard from employees that CJS has helped there was two employees that amazed me one who was a ex offender and to hear how CJS has helped him and turned his life around and two the girl in the wheel chair to hear her story was amazing and how CJS can make a huge impacted on peoples lives. This experience of going to the conference has gave me a lot of knew and the SCVO has made a huge impact on me to get funding as after I got diagnosed with my illnesses I couldn't do my childcare career so I got this CJS job and has boosted up my confidence knowing I can do things and all the staff work with are great to work with. When I was in Glasgow I also got the opportunity to speak with SCVO staff to ask about further training and what can happen next after my contract is up. I am so happy I have able to gain a CJS job as I have seen more potential in me and hope I can gain a full time job in December
hi my name is Steven, I was on a work placement with Fife shopping and support services doing gardening for the elderly clients, the last week of my placement I spent down at the new shop, helping to sort stock out and helping to get the shop ready for opening. I then started a college course to help me get a job, it was for 26 weeks, I needed to have a workplace along side my course, I asked my tutor if he could contact Fife shopping and support services to see if I could work in the new shop, I love helping this charity as I feel like am giving back to the local community by helping the elderly people. It is a nice place to work and nice people, we sell things like toys and clothes and nice things. I have learnt new things working for fife shopping and support services, I am glad I have came back to where I started, rather than some other place, its been good so far and I am going to work hard and have a friendly smile for our customers , and also keep our customers happy, as if they feel happy they will come back to our happy hard working shop.
Thank you Fife shopping and support services for giving me this opportunity. By Steven Noble |
